Set up IPTV on a Samsung Smart TV

Your Samsung Smart TV can play your Vepix TV IPTV subscription without any extra box. Just install a player app from the Samsung store, then add your subscription to it. Allow about ten minutes the first time.

What you need

An up-to-date Samsung Smart TV running Tizen (most models since 2017).
A stable internet connection: about 10 Mbps for HD, 25 Mbps for 4K. See What internet speed for IPTV?
Your Vepix TV login details, received by email after payment.
A smartphone or computer, for the activation step.

Which app should I choose?

Here are three apps we recommend, available from the Samsung store:

IBO Player: clear interface, accepts M3U links and Xtream Codes.
Hot IPTV: a simple app that works the same way.
Bay IPTV: an alternative if the first two are not available on your model.

All three apps work the same way: they display a MAC address and a device key, which you use to send your subscription to the TV from the app publisher’s website. They offer a free trial period, then a paid licence per TV, paid directly to the app publisher and not to Vepix TV. The price and trial length are shown on the publisher’s website.

Step 1: install the app

Press the Home button on the remote.
Open Apps, then the search icon (magnifying glass).
Type the name of the app you chose, for example “IBO Player”.
Select it, then choose Install.
Once the installation is complete, open the app.

Step 2: note the MAC address and key

The first time it opens, the app displays a MAC address (in the format 00:1A:2B:3C:4D:5E) and a device key. Write them down or take a photo of the screen with your smartphone: you will need them in the next step. The screen also shows the address of the publisher’s website.

Step 3: add your subscription

In the email containing your Vepix TV login details, you will find two ways to connect: an M3U link and Xtream Codes details (server address, username and password). When the app offers both, choose Xtream Codes: the programme guide and content categories are loaded automatically. The details are explained in M3U link or Xtream Codes: what’s the difference?

On your smartphone or computer, open the publisher’s website shown in the app.
Open the playlist management page (often “Manage playlist” or “Add playlist”).
Enter your TV’s MAC address and device key.
Choose Xtream Codes and enter the server address, username and password you received by email. Otherwise, paste the M3U link.
Give the playlist a name, for example “Vepix TV”, then confirm.

Step 4: start watching

Go back to the TV, close the app completely, then open it again. Your “Vepix TV” playlist appears: select it. The first time, loading the channels, movies and series may take one or two minutes.

Adjust the picture quality

If possible, connect the TV to your router with an Ethernet cable: it is the most stable connection.
On Wi-Fi, connect the TV to your router’s 5 GHz network.
If the picture stutters, choose the HD version of a programme rather than 4K.

Common problems

The playlist does not load

Check the MAC address entered on the website (a single wrong character is enough) and your login details: extra spaces, capital letters, the number 0 instead of the letter O. Close and reopen the app after each change.

The app is not in the store

Some older TVs do not have access to the same apps. Try one of the other two recommended apps, or use a Fire TV Stick or an Android TV box plugged into the TV.

A message says the trial has ended

The app’s trial period is over: the licence is paid on the publisher’s website. Your Vepix TV subscription remains valid.
