Setup guide

Set up IPTV on Apple TV

Apple TV offers a polished picture and a pleasant remote for watching your Vepix TV subscription. The apps are available directly in the Apple TV App Store; installation takes a few minutes.

IPTV on Apple TV

What you need

  • An Apple TV HD or 4K, with a recent version of tvOS.
  • An Apple ID signed in on the device.
  • A connection of about 10 Mbps for HD and 25 Mbps for 4K.
  • Your Vepix TV login details, received by email.

Which app should I choose?

  • GSE Smart IPTV: very complete, accepts Xtream Codes and M3U playlists, with a programme guide. Some features may require an in-app purchase.
  • Smarters Player Lite: a simple interface that separates live TV, movies and series, with Xtream Codes login.

Step 1: install the app

  1. Open the App Store on the Apple TV.
  2. Go to the search tab and type “GSE Smart IPTV” or “Smarters Player Lite”.
  3. Select Get, then open the app.

Tip: to enter your login details more easily, use your iPhone’s keyboard. A notification appears on the iPhone when the Apple TV is waiting for text input.

Step 2: add your subscription

In the email containing your Vepix TV login details, you will find two ways to connect: an M3U link and Xtream Codes details (server address, username and password). When the app offers both, choose Xtream Codes: the programme guide and content categories are loaded automatically. The details are explained in M3U link or Xtream Codes: what’s the difference?

With GSE Smart IPTV

  1. Open the app and accept the terms.
  2. Open the menu, then the Xtream Codes API section.
  3. Add an account with the + button: a name (“Vepix TV”), the server address, the username and the password.
  4. Save, then select the account to load the channels.

To use the M3U link, go to the Remote playlists section instead and paste the link.

With Smarters Player Lite

  1. Open the app.
  2. Choose the Xtream Codes API login.
  3. Enter a name of your choice, the username, the password and the server address.
  4. Confirm: the home screen shows live TV, movies and series.

Tips for smooth playback

  • If your Apple TV model has an Ethernet port, connect it to your router with a cable: it is the most stable connection.
  • On Wi-Fi, connect to the 5 GHz network.
  • If the picture hesitates, choose HD rather than 4K for that programme.

Common problems

The connection is refused

Check the server address (with http:// and the port, if any) and the capital letters in the username and password. See M3U or Xtream Codes: common errors.

The programme guide is empty

With Xtream Codes, the guide loads automatically after a few minutes. With an M3U link, you sometimes need to add a separate EPG link.
